Dan graduated from the University of Warwick in July 2013 with a First Class degree in English and Theatre Studies. He is a freelance director and co-founder of Barrel Organ Theatre.

Dan is currently working with writer and performer Lucy Grace on her solo shows Garden and Lucy, Lucy and Lucy Barfield. Earlier this year, his “clear-eyed production” (Exeunt) of The Spanish Tragedy played at the Old Red Lion in Islington.

Dan has assisted Ellen McDougall on the Headlong, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse production of The Glass Menagerie and on James Dacre’s production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which was a co-production between the Royal & Derngate, Manchester Royal Exchange and Northern Stage.

Dan also has extensive experience as dramaturg, editor and producer, and has read scripts for various companies and theatres. He is a Creative Projects Associate at the Royal and Derngate.
